Of the 10,038,758В total reads-of which 1,582В total reads were retained after filtering of reads from the human genome-1,378 (87.1%) sequences matched the sequence of SARSr-CoV (Fig. One sample (WIV04), collected from the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF), was analysed by metagenomics analysis using next-generation sequencing to identify potential aetiological agents. Here we report on a series of cases caused by an unidentified pneumonia disease outbreak in Wuhan, Hubei province, central China. In addition, 2019-nCoV virus isolated from the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid of a critically ill patient could be neutralized by sera from several patients. Pairwise protein sequence analysis of seven conserved non-structural proteins domains show that this virus belongs to the species of SARSr-CoV.

Furthermore, we show that 2019-nCoV is 96% identical at the whole-genome level to a bat coronavirus. The sequences are almost identical and share 79.6% sequence identity to SARS-CoV.
